Bay Area Urban Photography : Teen Brothers

When the oldest child is almost ready to go to college - it is a very interesting time in a household. There is much anticipation of the new life waiting, the new room that will become available, and the changes ahead.  One thing is for certain - the family life as they know it will be changed forever.  This is a perfect time to stop a moment and document those siblings at that point in time - before all of the changes.  Here are some images from a session I did recently with Henry and Ethan before Henry left for college - photographed in some urban spots in Oakland.

People ask me all the time when the best time is to photograph their newborn - and my answer is a firm "under 14 days". But for many new parents the first few weeks after the birth are a bit overwhelming and the thought of leaving home to come to the studio with a 10 day old baby can be daunting. No worries! Bay Area Children Urban Railroad Portraits : Finn and Delia down by the tracks

Now that the holiday rush is winding down, I finally have the chance to add some content to my blog!  I have had some great sessions in the past few months  - including this fun mini session with Finn and Delia down by the Railroad tracks.  Of course I choose non-operational railroad tracks, and then add a chair and some fun loving kids and sha-bang! We get some artsy, colorful, urban portraits capturing their personalities and their relationship.  I love the urban look for kids and their mom did a great job of choosing their clothes to create a coordinated casual but modern look. And Delia's little pink sequin shoes tied it all together! Here are a few of my favorites from the session...
